EMU Student Arrested for Stealing from UMich

Last week, there were a couple of burglaries reported at UMich of semi-precious gems from display cases. Today they arrested an EMU student who attempted to have them appraised not too far from UMich campus. They also seized several knives and have submitted some suspected drug residue for testing from his on-campus apartment..

  1. Oh, that’s just great. Bad news that EMU doesn’t need when it has had a string a relatively good press lately. An on-campus EMU (dorm room?) thief who stole from U of M and had drugs in the dorms? U of M students will have a field day with that comparison between their cross-town peers.

BTW: Isn’t the Orange Taylor trial supposed to start again next week? I thought it was scheduled for March 31, but I am only going from memory.

  2. Brian,

Yeah, the retrial was schedule for March 31st. I haven’t seen any news indicating otherwise as of lately..

  3. Yeah, good thing they got that graduation thing moved. Sure wouldn’t want to traumatize them with the thought of having to graduate from Ypsi.

Sources inside the university had said that this one graduation at EMU would cost the U-M 10′s of millions of dollars in annual giving if you look at the lifetime giving for any one class. Once they realized it would hit them in the pocket, well it didn’t take long to figure out another location.

    Cheers!

I am more interested in the fact that this guy is a product of the whitey, tidey community of Saline, Michigan, where all the children are above average, the men strong and the women good lookin!
