“Eastern Michigan grads create new social networking site”

Just wanted to give a shout-out to some EMU grads/local entrepreneurs who are striking out with a new social networking site called uSurvive.com, as reported in the Ypsilanti Courier story “Eastern Michigan grads create new social networking site.” Here’s the first couple of paragraphs of the story:

While Tweeting and Facebooking have become regular verbs in the vocabulary of college students (and almost everyone else) over the course of the last few years, a group of local entrepreneurs hopes to add Surviving to the list of daily networking terms uttered from the mouths of 18 to 20-something year olds.

The trio of Tim Adkins, Bilal Saeed, and Brian Peterson, all recent graduates of Eastern Michigan University, recently launched the college networking site uSurvive.com. The site operates much like the original plan for Facebook where college student are the only group accessible to the site, and they must register using their school issued email addresses which end in “.edu.”

And if these folks take down Facebook, I hope they keep those tech jobs local!
