“It’s hard for me to say I’m sorry…”

Here’s the latest quote about Ron English’s foot-in-mouth about single mothers, from “clickondetroit” channel 4, “EMU Coach Defends His Words About Single Moms.” Here’s a quote:

Eastern Michigan University’s head football coach Ron English said he wasn’t attacking single moms.Earlier this summer, English said he wants recruits that have fathers in their background because they had experience listening to men.”I regret that some people thought I was attacking single moms,” English said.. “I was raised by my grandmother. My father wasn’t really a part of my life until I was a teenager. So, I have all the respect in the world for women raising kids on their own.”

One Response to “It’s hard for me to say I’m sorry…”

  1. The man is digging himself deeper, and refusing to admit that his words were offensive to many. He meant no offense, but he was offensive. He seems too proud to apologize, too proud to see his words were harmful.

Pride goeth before a fall: that was one of the lessons my single mother taught me.

The coach has shown nothing but defensiveness about this whole affair, thus dragging it out. Shameful way to represent a university.

    Education First! Go Eagles.
