Ah, the internets!
This one had me cracking up last night.
And here’s one I think you’ll like!
Oh, that one deserves to be more visible:
The one dealing with me (I think I might have been the initial post!) is pretty funny. It details the initial rush of excitement a student feels when receiving an email in your inbox (Hey, can you hang with me tonight?), then the realization that it’s just a campus email from Mr. Larcom (Sir Spamalot). But please keep reading them, dear campus folks! They are meant to inform.
My husband complains about “Geoff Larcom” emails and the connected disappointment all the time. I try to tell him how nice you are and how it’s your job, but alas it does not appease him.
I like the Geoff Larcom emails, how else will I know about planned systems down-times… like tonight!
This is awesome. The students’ comments make me feel extremely elderly, as I don’t understand them. Why do they get so miffed when someone does a meme “incorrectly?” Have you figured out yet what it means to do one ‘incorrectly?’ I hope someone does one about people who take the elevator to go one floor in PH….
Think of them as stock characters. Each has a certain role, a certain way in which it is expected to behave, and ignoring that expectation (as opposed to either using it properly or deliberately confounding it) defeats the purpose of using that stock character. Relevant to the ones above, take a look at what Know Your Meme says about “Rage Guy” (possibly NSFW) and “Y U No” Guy.
Thanks!
I don’t think that worked; here’s a link for the Pray-Harrold elevator request.

Sorry for the multiple posts, I’m having issues this morning.
YES! hahah that’s aweseome
Hey sitedad, you should set up a ‘memes’ section of this website….that way we oldsters could have our fun without intruding on the youngins’ facebook page
Well, I don’t want to take anything away from those EMU Memes folks and it’s easy enough to follow them on to Facebook, so….
BTW, two handy links of you are wondering just what the heck this is all about:
http://memegenerator.net/
This is where most of these images on the EMU Memes web site are coming from.
http://knowyourmeme.com/
Which gives a nice little primer on memes of various sorts.
Yeah, it’s easy to follow them, but I meant to post our own.
The latest and greatest that’s all over Facebook is the “U think I do…”, which is really easy use for generating your own meme. (www.uthinkido.com)
Here’s an example I put together. Enjoy!
