“EMU names Jeffrey Kentor associate provost and associate vice president for graduate studies and research”

Walter Kraft sent an email around this yesterday and there is this press release:  “EMU names Jeffrey Kentor associate provost and associate vice president for graduate studies and research.” This has been a search long in coming in that I believe the current dean/director/whatever the current title is for Deb DeLaski-Smith has been the “interim” director of graduate students at EMU for at least five years.

I did a search for Kentor just now and one thing that seems odd is he doesn’t have a picture on his University of Utah profile. I am hoping he isn’t in some kind of witness protection program. And the other kind of “fun fact” is his daughter is pursing a PhD here in Clinical Psychology, which might also explain part of his motivations in moving from a research 1 like the University of Utah.

  1. Will he be replacing on of the associate provosts?

  2. He’ll be replacing Deb DeLaski-Smith, who I think deserves a warm round of applause for being willing to serve in that position as an interim for as long as she has.
