EMUTalk.org welcomes the contributions of others through new and original posts. If you have an idea, a writing, or an article you want to share on the site. Simply send the administrator an email (emutalk at gmail dot com) with the idea, the complete writing/article, or anything else to get the ball rolling.
The goal is inclusion: as long as it’s a good idea and relevant to the site and it meets some common sense guidelines, I will probably post the contribution.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- All contributions must meet “the rules 2.0,” so would-be contributors might want to take a look at that document.
- Like all the other content on EMUTalk.org, your contribution on the site would be covered by this “share and share alike” license from Creative Commons. If it is important for you to retain ownership of the content in your post, you should not post it here.
- Your contribution has to be relevant to EMU and/or the Ypsi/Arbor community, and it can’t be a promotion/advertisement for something on your behalf. This is a more gray area than you might think. A post about a group of EMU students and staff traveling to Egypt would be okay, but a post about your trip to Egypt probably would not be okay. A post about the challenges of the housing market in Ypsi/Arbor would probably be okay, but an effort to sell your house would probably not be okay.
- I am willing to post contributions anonymously, though you should keep in mind that you might be seen as more credible if you revealed who you really are.
- You are responsible for your own proof-reading, spell-checking, etc. So write carefully.
- Finally, I reserve the right to not post your contribution and to not provide you any reason as to why. If you aren’t happy about that, might I suggest that you set up your own blog. If you go that route, send me the address so I can post it on EMUTalk.org.
